Surprised me!

Troy, Elliot and Sophie are the three submariners who are in search of a black box from the disappeared plane in Indian Ocean. They pick up some sort of different signal four miles underwater. They pursue their journey next day again to see where that signal is from. What the trio find is completely unexpected and their life is on the line now.

Oliver Phipps has created a neat and superficial world of action and adventure. The writing and editing was good. The characters were engaging. There are major plot twists that will keep the readers on edge. The 'strangers'' world was made rich and well thought out to create enough suspense in the mind of the readers. This short sci-fi underwater adventure has definitely surprised me!

Fantastic, easy read!

In the wake of the missing flight N340, three submariners are sent on a search to locate the aircraft. What they find is incredible and frightening. This novel will transport you into a highly imaginative and action-packed world. I have not read many novels that incorporate mythology into the storyline, but I throughly enjoyed this one. I didn't need extensive knowledge to understand just what the three were up against, which is always nice.

If you have a free afternoon and want to read something both easy and thrilling, this should be the novel you purchase. It was a lot of fun and didn't lose my attention for a second. This author has a way of creating a world that you can visualize. The only reason I even give this a four star instead of five is due to the occasional grammar issues. That said, don't let this keep you away! They will not take away from the experience for a second. In fact, I look forward to reading some more of the books by this author. New fan here!

Intense, action packed underwater thriller!

The author creates an intense, action packed underwater sci-fi thriller that is fun and exciting at every turn. A plane has disappeared in the Indian Ocean and our three main characters Troy, Sophie, and Eliot are in a submersible in route to find what they think is the black box. What they find will change their lives forever. Oliver Phipps imagination and creativity are simply amazing. You feel you are right there in the trench with Troy and his crew to make sense of everything that is unfolding before them. The blending of mythical monsters in the stranger's world was simply genius. I look forward to more from this talented author.

Highly recommended for those who have doubts about themselves

This is a very interesting book. It laid out step-by-step how our life can be affected by our inner thoughts and explained very thoroughly why it is so important that we garner positive thoughts all the times.

It didn't just stop there. Tips on how we could manifest our desires into reality by applying law of atrraction were also provided in this book. Personally I believe in Feng Shui and this book just blend in so well.

Do not doubt, just believe, or it will cancel the manifestation power of positivity.

I bought this book to find out what is the secret of universal law of attraction. I am glad I have chosen the right book. I am not particularly looking in details but this book is just nice and enough for me to understand the basic and how exactly does the law of attraction works. For those who are looking for cheap & easy to understand books on law of attraction, you can buy and read this book.

Topics include d'Alembert's principle and the idea of virtual work, the derivation of Langrange's equation of motion, special applications of Lagrange's equations, Hamilton's equations, the Hamilton-Jacobi theory, canonical transformations and an introduction to relativity.
Problems included at the end of each chapter will help the student greatly in solidifying his grasp of the principal concepts of classical dynamics. An annotated bibliography at the end of each chapter, a detailed table of contents and index, and selected end-of-chapter answers complete this highly instructive text.

About the Author
Donald T. Greenwood received his PhD from the California Institute of Technology, and is a Professor Emeritus of aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Before joining the faculty at Michigan he worked for the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, and has also held visiting positions at the University of Arizona, the University of California, San Diego, and ETH Zurich. He is the author of two previous books on dynamics.

Excellent Supporting Book

This book is an excellent read, and it explains concepts with unusual clarity. I wouldn't suggest it as a main text, but it is an excellent supplement to others, such as Goldstein or Jose and Saletan. I found this little book explained many concepts far better than these "standards" that are used in most graduate mechanics courses. It includes many nice examples. It also includes the answers to the problems in the back. How often do you see that in a graduate level book? I also think it is an excellent read for physics graduate students, who are just trying to get through the comprehensive exam rather than master the details of classical mechanics.

sometimes difficult to read, but the problems are excellent

This book can be compared with Walter Rudin's Principles of Mathematical Analysis in that it is very terse and the reader must sit with pencil and paper to fill in many details, both in the theory and example problems. It is the case that this process actively engages the reader into the subject and permits a deeper, fuller understanding than just reading the results and final equations. Having less detail in the theory is understandable, but I've found that the example problems are equally as difficult to follow; this makes it increasingly tough to solve his problems (though once I solve a problem, I feel a great sense of accomplishment) On problems: the problems are very well thought out and complement the theoretical section of the text quite well.

From my experience with the book

Chronologically, "Classical Dynamics" was Donald Greewood's second major publication on Analytical Dynamics, covering more advanced topics than the ones in "Principles of Dynamics," whose first edition preceded "Classical Dynamics" by some 12 years.
"Classical Dynamics" is a somewhat more readable text, but just like its companion book, it fails to address issues like how one can use Lagrange's equations (or Hamilton's, for that matter) to correctly account for the effects of nonlinear dissipative forces. Also, its treatment of velocity-dependent potentials could be substantially extended, as could the chapter on Relativity.
On the other hand, the chapters on variational principles, the Pprinciple of Least Action, Hamilton's mechanics, and, above all, canonical transformations are an absolute "must-read"!
An updated, extended second edition would be most welcome now.

Sweet Love Story

So glad Candy wrote her story -- thus far. When she first met Ben at Yale, it's as if she's Anne of Green Gables. Gilbert's teasing her and she doesn't know why, in fact, she's quite irritated by it. But Candy continues to go to church with Ben, and she describes how her faith blossoms (in just two remarkably simple sentences), and how her heart melts when she confronts Ben about all the attention he's giving her.

This book is a must read, and hopefully there'll be sequel: A Doctor in the White House.

The Carsons are amazing people, yet their humility and decency are obvious

Got the book as a Christmas present and it arrived yesterday, and once I started it I could not put it down. Well written, inspirational, and filled with warmth, humor, and compassion. The Carsons are amazing people, yet their humility and decency are obvious. A great great book on life ! I think that they will excel at anything into which they put their efforts. Glad they are willing to work to help our country.

This book makes me have a better outlook on life

This was very positive and uplifting throughout. I read this in two days. It was hard to put this book down. Candy writes as though she is talking to you right next to you. It is as if she is sitting across the table from you, walking you through her home, or walking down the corridors of the hospital with you. Most of all, she is genuine and I marvel at how she has done so much. This book makes me have a better outlook on life. I wish I had known the Carsons. This book has so many surprises for me. I was in Hamden, CT when they are at Yale. I was in the U.S. Virgin Islands and also Delaware and spent much time in Baltimore. Candy even worked at the UI office and I did as well, in another state. I wish I had met them. What an inspiring couple!
