Deep but very accessible

This is my first D. Chopra book. I am literally astounded. This information has opened an entire new world to me, a new way of living that is exciting, easier, and mysterious but in a fulfilling way. I connected with it immediately, but do need to read some sections more than once. Each reading feels like a new discovery. Thank you Dr. Chopra for helping me to peel back my layers of disbelief to get to the juicy center--which is PURE Love.

You can actually gain from this book!

If this is the same book I had many years ago in my own high school days, I can proudly say it taught me a lot about the English language. We used to make small flashcards with the word on one side, and the meaning on the other, and quiz ourselves and others about them every week. It really does help, though I'm sure many students don't want to take the time to learn, and that would be unfortunate. At our school way back when, we had a stiff curriculum and I look back now with the realization that even while we hated it then, the final experiences will live with me forever, and that's a GOOD thing.

About the Author
Helen Krich Chinoy became one of our most distinguished American theater scholars and devoted over three decades to her study of the Group Theatre. This was a natural extension of a number of earlier projects, including the seminal Actors on Acting (1949) and Directors on Directing (1953), both still in print and co-edited with Toby Cole, and Women in American Theatre (1981), edited with Linda Walsh Jenkins. A Columbia University PhD, Helen spent most of her career at Smith College, USA. After her retirement, she held the Hoffman Eminent Scholar Chair in Theatre at Florida State University and the Harold Clurman Professorship at Hunter College, USA. In 1989 the Association for Theatre in Higher Education awarded her its Career Achievement Award.

This is an interesting book on a subject I haven't read about before although I've studied and written about the arts during this era.
So It was wonderful to find this book written by a Smith Professor in Theatre who has since died. l am grateful that her daughter posted about this book on Facebook.

If you are named as an executor, you MUST read THIS!

The author writes clearly and concisely. There was not a lot of fluff. And there were a good many "killer" issues that I had no inkling about when I started. I feel a LOT more informed now. The process of being an executor in a will is not the "cakewalk" that I had assumed. I will be a LOT more careful now about how I answer when an elderly friend asks me to be an executor. While I appreciate the fact that the person feels I am trustworthy, I am much more reluctant to assume the liabilities involved.... especially if there are "issues" within the family.

Appendix B gives data on physical properties of water, air, and some commonly used fluids in the laboratory, and also lists other related standard values to be used in the various experiments.

About the Author
Frances Fowler worked as a classroom teacher in Tennessee for 15 years. During that time she was active in both her union and her school district and was also involved in state and local politics. Eventually, she became so interested in politics and policy that she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she majored in educational administration with a concentration in educational politics and policy. In 1990 she accepted a tenure-track position at Miami University, where she taught educational politics and policy for 19 years, ending her higher education career as a Full Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in her department.  Frances retired in 2009 and she remains politically active at the local level and is active on the Education Committee of the Cincinnati Area League of Women Voters. In addition to this book, she is also a co-author of Educational Governance and Administration

Educational Leaders

This book was very easy to read and understand. Coming from a teaching background, and not knowing anything about policy making, this book was a true education. I used it in my grad class, and every student commented on the ease of understanding and the interest in the text. This is a must buy if you want to learn anything about education, teaching or being an administrator!

Fowler surfs the waves of educational public policy!

An excellent source of information for the layperson or serious student of American education systems. Dr. Fowler explains in great detail a variety of such substantive areas as the meaning of policy; power and education; a discussion of the policy environment; some types of political systems and culture; ideological and value systems; who sets the stage in the making of education policy; the various stages of the policy process and so forth. Enjoyable! Thorough! Substantive!

The 3rd ed. have excellent information which is missing from the 4th ed. Some important diagrams were eliminated and mislabeled. If this is a rushed edition, I suggest the editor and author doubled check for inconsistencies.
