HOPE THERE IS MORE

When I read LGBT about the first book which was free. I will admit I was a little apprehensive. Just because I am not a fan of graphic sex of any kind. I will stop reading and and discard the book.But the heart felt moments we're handled with grace and enabled you to see the moment of love for what it was. Now on to the rest. I loved the stories. Magic , dragons ,action. I literally had to keep reading and will honestly say I NEVER BUY BOOKS. When there are so many free books. But congratulations, excellent story telling. I bought the next 2 books and they are kept in favourites to read again. I hope there will be more books in the future.

I wish some of these authors would write one big book instead of having to wait around for the next "installment" of the story...I've always loved reading and honestly don't remember so many authors writing several books to get through what really should be one...I know Harry Potter was a big thing, but not every story is meant to go on and at least her books were full length novels rather than just barely one....I've been doing a lot of reading these days because I have extra time on my hands, so I guess this must be the new trend in writing....I'm eagerly and impatiently waiting for the next piece of these story...

Very good read

This is the third book in the series, i have really enjoyed reading them. The way the characters end up with their loved ones is unusual. A lot of them are gay, i like the way the author was not intimidated to pair them up this way. Of course not all of them are gay, but enough to let you know the author knew what he was writing about. I myself am not gay but have friends and loved ones who are, its nice to see the author felt that all types of people exist and that just added to the story line. I will be looking for more from this author. I recommend this series to anyone who likes dragons and magic.

Bo Brinkman is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Alton F. Sanders began his computer career in 1963. He has worked as a software developer, software consultant, system manager, and university professor. About the Author

Kathi Lipp is a busy conference and retreat speaker, currently speaking each year to thousands of women throughout the United States. She is the author of The Husband Project and The Marriage Project and has had articles published in several magazines, including Today’s Christian Woman and Discipleship Journal. Kathi and her husband, Roger, live in California and are the parents of four teenagers and young adults.

Common Sense Organizing Tips...

Kathi Lipp's style of organizing makes sense. I love to look at glossy pictures of beautiful rooms, but my rooms look anything but most of the time. Lipp uses common sense tips to help the wannabes reach just a bit more and find the solution that conquers their clutter, so her advice was something I could wrap my mind around. Where one family may use the dining room table as a catch all, another might have front door issues. She goes into the flow of the room, how to identify and conquer trouble spots and gives hints and tips from others who may share your unique struggles. Lipp also comes across as a chatty girlfriend who's been there rather than a lofty expert. This is a plus when I want to tackle a problem. Nothing like a lofty expert to make me hide my head in shame. I'll never, never, never be a Martha Stewart clone, but I could learn a few good hints from Kathi Lipp.

Lipp covers all areas of the house (and a few life issues, too) and tackles them one at a time. Bathroom got you buried, turn to the section on bathrooms. Office your nightmare? Good news, she covers that one, too. She even has a chapter on food preparation and organization which just might reimburse you for the price of the book, over and over again if you are prone to hitting drive-thrus due to "what's for dinner?" paralysis. If you are looking to get organized and tame your clutter beast this is a great resource.

Yea, Kathi Lipp! What a great help this book is. It's simple with easy to follow steps. Many organizing books are filled with good ideas but have so many steps and become so complicated that I never even try their systems. Not so with this book. I can't wait to get started!

I love taking pictures

I love taking pictures, especially about nature, I love to take pictures of the beach, mountains and rice fields. I already owned a DLSR camera, but honestly, I still do not know how to use its other functions. I always use the auto function. That is the reason why I downloaded this book, hoping that I can get some tips. And I was not wrong, there are tips and guides, especially about the shutter details, the tone of the picture, black and white, and so on. I also appreciate the effort of the author on how he explained the details that a beginner like me can understand. I enjoyed reading the book.

We know that women made up a significant part of Renaissance theater audiences but how might they have read the plays presented there? This book uses the writings of sixteenth and seventeenth century women to construct a feminist perspective on drama by Shakespeare, Marlowe, Jonson, Middleton, Ford, and their contemporaries.

Chapters are arranged thematically on key issues or genres. Women's religious compositions open up readings of plays like Doctor Faustus and Measure for Measure as interrogations of conventional beliefs which underpinned relations between men and women. Chapter 2 considers drama from across the period, including The Spanish Tragedy, The Revenger's Tragedy and The Maid's Tragedy, to show how revenge tragedy taps into deep fears and desires about women's agency and maternal power. Comedy, the female romantic quest, and the city as a site of female pleasure, are examined in diverse texts such as All's Well That Ends Well, The Duchess of Malfi, The Roaring Girl and Epicoene. Chapter 4 focuses on the household space as a specifically female form of imprisonment, analyzing Romeo and Juliet, Arden of Faversham, The Tragedy of Mariam and The Changeling and other domestic tragedies in the light of Renaissance women's experiences. The final chapter discusses queenship, subjects and women's interventions into masculine history.

Alison Findlay is a lecturer in English at Lancaster University, specializing in feminist approaches to Shakespeare, Renaissance Drama and women's writing of the early modern period.

Una guía muy interesante, práctica y fácil de entender. Pienso que merece una reedición, pues hay temas que se abordan una y otra vez, de forma repetitiva. Como casi todos los libros de estos temas, tiene un claro sesgo hacia las "mamás" y no hacia los papás, como si no fueran una audiencia, lo cual me parece que podría mejorarse.
En todo caso, valioso contenido y lo recomendaría.

We have gotten so much information and enjoyment from Marcia Williams' signature style; this book is no exception.

This overview of the mythology of Ancient Egypt also includes the reigns of some of the more important Pharoahs -- your children will have a more complete understanding of ancient Egyptian culture after reading this book.

"Ancient Egypt:Tales of Gods and Pharoahs" is so entertaining, you may even forget it's educational.

Beautiful illustrations, including a 4-page foldout and a 2-page foldout. Marcia Williams has an oddball sense of humor that we find very appealing.

Another Brilliant Comic Strip Mythology by Williams

Reason for Reading: I love mythology, Egyptian Mythology, and this series of books by Marcia Williams.

Typical of Marcia Williams' books this is set up in a comic strip format with the narrative told underneath the strips and funny, comical asides coming from the characters depicted in the cartoons. The most popular tales are told here in a fairly linear order so that one story leads onto the next with the exception of jumping many years to Cleopatra at the end. The book begins with the mythology of Ra, Isis, Thoth, etc and goes on to tell the tales of famous pharaohs Hatsheput, Thutmose, Tut, Cleopatra, etc. So the book isn't entirely mythology, though myths do surround some of the Pharaohs. Williams' artwork is beautiful as usual and the book includes two spreads where the pages unfold outwards to create large panoramic scenes. One thing that is missing, from her other books, is the usual detailed framed artwork around each page; here she has simply framed each piece with what look like papyrus plants. An added plus though, is along the bottom of each page is a continuous ticker where a cat tells a running commentary on interesting facts about Egyptian life: the role of cats (of course), agriculture, mummies, inventions, etc. A gorgeous book when all said and done; the tales are a good selection for an introduction to Egyptian mythology and pharaohs.

These myths are for history lessons, not bedtime or casual picture book reading

My middle school aged sons and I are studying Egypt, including Egyptian religion and mythology, and so checked this book out from the library. Yes it is very colorful, but some of the sidebar animations detract from the main story AND I question her target audience. I mean, it's animated like it is for young children but do young children really need to be reading these stories? These are NOT family-friendly fairy tales! To prove my point, here is an excerpt from the story titled "Horus the Avenger":

Seth was Pharaoh of Egypt, but the crown really belonged to his nephew, Horus. Seth decided to kill him, as he'd killed Osiris, Horus' father. Horus was still a child and guarded by his mother, Isis, on a floating island. One night, as the island bumped against the banks of the Nile, Seth crossed onto it. He took the shape of a scorpion and crawled into Horus' room where he stung him.

All night Horus screamed as Isis tried to heal him, but by morning he appeared dead. The wise god Thoth comforted Isis and reassured her that she would see her son again. Horus had passed into the Duat, but only so that his father, Osiris, could prepare him to fight Seth and avenge their deaths. Horus remained with Osiris until he became a man and was ready to meet Seth in battle.

Amen Ra took Horus to the land of the living in his sacred boat. Seth was ready and waiting. He charged at Horus and aimed a bolt of fire into his eyes. Horus was blinded and unable to fight back. He roared with pain and anger. It was many weeks before Horus regained his sight and could go after Seth again.

Every time Horus thought he had his enemy cornered, the wily Seth escaped. So Horus gathered a great army and chased Seth up the river Nile. When they reached the island of Elephantine, Horus saw Seth standing there in the form of a vast red hippopotamus, uttering a terrible curse.

The wind raged, the waved rose, and blackness fell over Egypt. Only the boat of Horus gleamed in the darkness as the gigantic hippopotamus opened its jaws to crush him. Quickly, Horus took the likeness of a giant youth. He drew back his arm and cast a long harpoon. Horus threw it with such force that it traveled through the roof of Seth's mouth and into his brain. The red hippopotamus sank dead into the Nile, the darkness vanished, and the people of Egypt rejoiced at the victory of Horus the Avenger. Peace came to Egypt, and Horus was crowned pharaoh. . . . . End of Excerpt

I am unable to objectively review Jim Herman's Voyage of 1766, as my maiden name is Herman, and Jimmy is a cousin of mine. That being said, I found the book quite good and very educational. I learned more about my direct ancestors from its pages than I ever knew talking to family members in all my life. The story is a fascinating look at our past through one family's eyes, and is guaranteed to awaken the urge in anyone to learn more about their past. Just to note: You don't have to be in this family to enjoy this book. It's a great read for anyone.
